The shoe workshops

The origin of ZILLI stems from a passion for beauty and an unwavering sense of exclusivity. We have thus introduced our range of shoes with the aim of creating a complete men's wardrobe, offering a diverse and carefully curated selection to cater to all occasions and lifestyles. Crafted in Italy, each model of oxfords, sneakers, boots, and loafers is a tribute to the art of shoemaking.

In our Italian workshops, centuries-old techniques remain unchanged. It all begins with the leathers, meticulously selected worldwide by the Maison's experts: calf, suede calf, matte deer, crocodile ā€” all combinations are possible in an infinite color palette.

The pattern cutter lifts the leather with a precise and decisive motion; years of experience have taught him how to cut a hide to accentuate its most beautiful features. Demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, the matching process can be delicate: on a pair of crocodile shoes, the scale pattern must be identical on each foot.

When the upper is ready, the shoe begin to take its shape. Pulled by hand with a forceful motion, the perfectly even stitching ensures that the shoe will be flexible and durable.

Essential to comfort, the sole of the shoe channels all the skill of the master shoemaker. The shank needs to be fitted and covered with cork, then smoothed down with a file, without damaging the stitches. The glued sole can be pressed, and the various seams completed. Now the heal can be added.

When the shoe arrives at the finishing stage, where it is smoothed, polished, and buffed, several days have passed.

This is the time required for creation and perfection.
